2 Babies + 3 Hour Photo Shoot = Craziness!

We are currently in D.C. as Bryson interviewed at Georgetown this past weekend for a position in the plastic surgery residency program. I got to spend quite a bit of time with two of my favorite people- Shannon and Jordan. Shannon and I took the babies down today to get their six month photos. I think every mom in the greater D.C. area had the same idea as we had to drive around the whole state of Maryland to find a place that would take us! It was a little crazy with both babies!! Luckily it was well-worth the headache as Jordan and Danny's photos turned out AWESOME!

p.s.- I have to thank Emily Downen again for this ADORABLE outfit he is wearing in the photo. It has to be one of the cutest I have ever seen :)

Richards Family Photo

Here is a picture of the WHOLE Richards family (there are 10 kids in Bryson's fam!). We had this photo taken while we were in D.C. for Thanksgiving. Freed Photography photographed us, and I am amazed that they got a shot of all of us looking at the camera! Yes... it is a really big family, but it is always fun :)

Back in NYC

My baby is now 6 months old, and I have decided that time is flying by way too fast. I can already tell that I am going to have a nervous breakdown when he moves out of the house as I struggled this week to pack away all of his little clothes that no longer fit him. I wish I could just freeze him! Although I sometimes miss him being so tiny, I have to admit he becomes more and more fun with every new stage. Why is being a mom so dang fun?!

So we are finally back home. It took me about a week to get our apartment somewhat together after being gone for so many months, yet we are leaving again next week! I have LOVED being back here. It has been so great to have my own little space again and to see all of our friends. Danny has loved the city as well. He has found his favorite spot in the whole world- sitting by the window! He literally cries when I take him away from his 'perch'. He is fascinated by the taxis, trucks, people, dogs, pigeons that are all outside our apartment. I don't blame him, the streets of New York have always entertained me as well!

This is his favorite spot. He is truly a city boy!

First time seeing snow

Running the lower loop in Central Park

First time meeting Santa at Macy's. He was quite nervous once I placed him in the hands of this large man with a strange red suit. There is nothing cuter than a jolly Santa, but I can definitely see why kids get scared!
This cutie loves his baths.

Indian Summer

Bryson and I spent a few days in Vegas with my family after we returned from our trip to Oregon. All I can say is that I heart Global Warming (no...I do not believe humans are causing rising temperatures, but that is a whole other blog)- we were water skiing on Lake Mead mid -November and the water temperature was perfect! I grew up skiing on this lake and I love the crystal clear blue water and rough mountain terrain that surrounds it. We are now in D.C. for Thanksgiving and are having a great time with the Richards. I hope you all have had a great holiday wherever you are. I am so thankful for the abundance of blessings which I have in my life. I am blessed with a wonderful family, great friends, good health, and am so fortunate to have been born into the gospel. I am indeed a blessed girl.

Here are a few photos from our day at the lake:

I hope Danny is proud of his mom skiing - especially since she was so sore the next day she could barely move!(yes...I desperately need to get into better shape :)

Meeting the Great Great Grandparents

This past week my mom and I flew up to Oregon to visit relatives on her side of the family. My mom grew up in Southern Oregon, and most of her family still lives in the area, including my great grandparents who are Danny's Great Great Grandparents. My great grandpa had a stroke a few weeks ago, and is weak, but is doing surprisingly well. My great grandma still cooks for herself, is very mobile, continues to writes cute letters to her grandkids, and has maintained her cute little sense of humor. I know they will not be around much longer, so I am so thankful we got to visit them, and so grateful they were able to meet little Danny.

Five generations together. My great grandparents are 93 and 94 years old!

Fall Road Trip

It has been a while since I have posted anything, but these past weeks have been a little hectic! We left D.C. after spending 5 awesome weeks with Bryson's family. It was so hard to leave them as well as our friends in Potomac. As sad as I was to leave, I was so thrilled that Bryson had finally finished his rotation at Georgetown. It was a very sucessfull but very LONG 4 weeks for him. We really had not spend any time together the past few months, so we decided to go on a road trip. It turned out to be such a wonderful week, we had great weather and saw so many beautiful places! We started out driving from D.C. up to Canada where we saw the cities of Montreal and Quebec. I felt as though I had traveled to Europe as we walked down the cobble stoned streets of Old Quebec- listening to all the people speak French at looking at the old and beautiful historic sites. We then drove through Vermont, New Hampshire, and Massachussets to get to Rhode Island where we enjoyed the beach and toured the beautiful Mansions of Newport. It could not have been a better trip with the beautiful scenery as the leaves were turning all over New England.

BYU Lacrosse and a beautiful night in D.C.

Saturday we drove to Baltimore to watch the BYU Lacrosse team play Villanova and Washington College. Unfortunately they did not win, but they were great games anyway, and Bryson loved seeing his old coaches and other Lacrosse Alumni at the game. The weather was perfect and although we were outside in the sun much of the day, Danny seemed to enjoy the trip. Danny is much more excited about his toy than the game.

Fast asleep during the game.

Cheering on the team.

Sunday night we drove into D.C. with Shannon, Kevin, and Jordan to see some of the sights of the city.

All six of us in front of the White House.
At sunset we went down to the Potomac River. Bryson held Danny near the water and together they watched the planes flying into Reagan National Airport. Danny was facinated by them- it was so cute!! He had the best night with his dad.
