No Baby Yet....Just Enjoying The City Until He Comes

Hanging out at the Met....we both wish we could come here more often. This museum is just too huge. I don't ever think we will ever see it all.

My mom came into town on Saturday. It has been so fun to have her here! She really is the organization queen, so she has gotten us completely ready for this baby. So anytime he wants to come would be great- we are ready (hint hint!)

Good Bye Work- Hello Maternity Leave!

I officially started my maternity leave this past Friday at 4:00 PM. It was exciting yet, very strange to leave the office with my bag full of personal items knowing that I will not be back for quite some time. I don't think it will hit me that I am really on leave until Monday morning when I do not have to go into the office. So crazy! I have a week until I am due, but I have a quite a long 'to do' list, so I am so glad that I have a few days off to get things done.
I will miss Credit Suisse, but I am so excited to start my new job as a mom! I know it will be the greatest endeavor I have ever taken on- can't wait!

Mother's Day in D.C.

We spent last weekend in D.C. hanging out with Bryson's family. The weather was perfect and we had a great time celebrating Mother's Day with his mom.
Saturday morning was great as Jayson serenaded me with his guitar. He has only played for a few years but he really is amazing. I am jealous that he is so good as I have ALWAYS wanted to play the guitar but never really got the hang of it (I have never been very musically inclined!). Maybe he can give me lessons some time :)
Although I did not get a picture of it, Bryson's brother Adam played the piano for me as well. He is a natural and is already a better piano player than me with only a few years of lessons. I really hope that our children get some of their musical talent!
Saturday afternoon we got to see Elyse play soccer- she is quite a competitive little thing. Even though she is only 6, she stood her ground against the ref when she thought she made a bad call- it was so funny!! I guess you naturally have a lot of 'spunk' when you are the youngest of 10. I have to say that I love this little girl to death and really wish I could take her home with me every time we go to D.C. to visit. Although she is only 6 (soon to be 7!) she is going to be a great aunt.
One of the highlights of the weekend was hanging out with my good friend Katie Hillstead. It had been almost 3 years since we had seen each other! The last time we hung out was before her mission and now she is married and is expecting her first baby with her husband Zach. So exciting!
Saturday night we met up with our friends Mikey and Jessica Peers. Here is Mikey and Bryson hanging out on the couch.
Bryson is holding Mikey and Jessica's little Jocelyn. She is the cutest thing, but sometimes she will hold her breath and she turns bright red- like in this picture!!
Sunday was the most beautiful day- perfect weather for a wonderful Mother's Day. Bryson's mom looks so beautiful here in her lavender suit. We were so happy we got to spend the day with her.
Here she is opening her Mother's Day gifts with 4 of her 10 kids! What a lucky and very loved mom! (Elyse, Ryan, Adam, and Jayson- such cute kids!)
Although I did not get to spend Mother's Day with my mom, I just want her to know that I am so grateful for all that she does for me. She is such an amazing woman and is an incredible example of love, selflessness, and service to me. Mom, I hope you had the best day yesterday and I just want you to know how much I love you!! Fun Weekend With an Old Friend

One of my best friends from high school came out to visit me this past weekend. Even though Trish and I have not been able to spend much time together since we were in school together, it felt as though we had never been apart. Bryson got to take a break from studying and meet up with us. Here we are at one of my favorite dessert places, Max Brenner's- it is pretty much a chocolate lover's dream come true.

I even got to show Trish some of New York's finest sights on the 6 train that night. Yes- that is a very large butt crack next to me- yuck!!

Here we are relaxing on the couch after church. I have to say that I was somewhat exhausted after running all over the town with Trish, even though we really did not do that much! I guess that is what you get when you are 8 1/2 months pregnant. This is a few minutes later- I told you I was tired!! I think I know how I will feel when I am about 90 years old.

I am obsessed!

So for anyone who knows me at all- they know that I am absolutely obsessed with my favorite (and only) niece Elizabeth (a.k.a 'Lizzy'). In fact, many people at work thought she was my daughter since I have pictures of her all over (and there is a HUGE one on my dresser at home). She is the always the center of attention at ALL family gatherings and no one can get enough of her. Every time I talk to her on the phone she asks me "is Bryson Jr. out of your tummy?", in which I have to disappoint her and let her know that he is still in there (I am always sad about this too!). She then quickly gets off the phone because that is really what she is interested in, and nothing else matters for us to talk about at this point. She is standing here in her cute little PJ's with her new puppy named Buck. Today is actually her mom and dad's 4th anniversary- so I hope you two have a great day- and leave this little one home while you go out tonight. I only wish I was there to babysit her!

Park Avenue Tulips

I just cannot get enough of NYC in the spring- so beautiful! Bryson and I met up with his friend Brent Peterson for dinner last night and we walked to the restaurant, which was great since all of Park Avenue is covered in Tulips and the trees are full of cherry blossoms. This is definitely the best season in the city. I am looking more and more pregnant, as you can tell from the pictures. I have started a countdown- 25 more days until I am due!
