A BOY!!

No- Bryson and I are NOT expecting again (thank goodness!! Daniel is only 4 months old.) My sister Katy found out on Thursday that she is having a boy this January!! She swore it was a girl, but I knew she was wrong all along :) (I am 2 for 2 so far). She will love being the mother to a boy, and now Daniel has a boy cousin on my side to hang out with - so things worked out perfectly.
I hope my niece Lizzy is taking the news well. She had wanted a baby sister and last time we asked what she would do if the baby was a boy she replied, "I guess we will feed him". I am sure she will the best big sister to her new brother, even though he may be a 'stinky boy'.
I am so excited for her, Justin, and her daughter Lizzy. I cannot wait to meet my new nephew in a few months!

First video on the blog

A few weeks ago Bryson and I bit the bullet and bought a new video camera . We love our purchase, but unfortunately Daniel gets shy every time we whip out the camera. He will go from laughing to super serious as soon as he sees we are filming him. Maybe he does not want the whole Internet world to know that he is actually a silly, smiley, little baby. Maybe he wants to have the reputation as a 'serious individual' or something? I am not sure. This video is rare footage of him actually smiling while I am recording him, so naturally I had to share it :)

Who Does Daniel Look Like?

This meter says he looks more like Bryson by 3%, but looking at my baby photos, he is a little clone of me. I guess we will just have to wait and see when he gets a little older. Right now he looks more like a little bald man than anything :) (a very cute old bald man!) Who do you think he looks like?

Happy Birthday Bryson!

My cute husband turned 28 today! I hope he had a great day. We have been celebrating the big event all weekend starting with a sushi dinner last night, presents this morning, BBQ this afternoon and we are having cake tomorrow night.
Happy birthday to a great husband, father, and friend. I love you B!!

Little Katydid

I am not sure how she did it, but somehow my little sister Katy started a company while she was raising a 3 year-old and was in school full time (can we say ambitious!?). She designs chic car seat covers to spice up those otherwise bland car seats that are sold on the market today. Her company is called
Little Katydids, and I advise everyone to check out her website at

http://littlekatydid.com/

I have this one, but in blue, and I love it (the blue is called the 'Dylan').

All I can say is that Kate is one amazing girl! Love you K!

One Awesome Chair

My friend Mindi was so kind as to lend us her "Bumbo Chair" for a while. I guess this squishy seat won the 2006 toy invention of the year, and I do say it is pretty cool. At first Daniel was a little weary of sitting upright, but now that he has gotten more use to his new sitting position, he really thinks he is just one of the big guys hanging out. I have a video of him sitting in this chair that I am going to post soon since it is so much cuter on the video camera.

Can I add that my 3-month-old child is mesmerized by the T.V. I have to turn it off during the day since he will want to do do nothing else if it is on- and I mean nothing. I cannot even feed him since he will turn his head away from me so that he can see the screen! I have never heard of a baby who prefers television over food. (Yes- he is fixed on the TV in this pic)

A Day in the Park

So in the past I have often felt obligated to go to Central Park. It seems that for us living in NYC, it is the only retreat from the city that gives you the feeling as though you really have left the city, so naturally, it is where we always go. After spending a good amount of time away from NYC this summer, I really feel as though I have come to fully appreciate this great chunk of land amidst a concrete jungle. It is pretty amazing, and I have tried to take Daniel there everyday for our walks to explore new areas and parts. Here are some fast facts about CP that I did not know:

1) It is 843 Acres or 6% of the island
2) 25 million people visit every year
3) 26,000 trees are in the park
4) 9,000 benches can be found to sit on
5) 275 different species of birds have been sighted
6) For those of your who are thirsty, 150 drinking fountains are located around the park
7) It was created 150 years ago by Frederick Olmstead and Calvert Vaux
8) You can always see at least 2 hairy men in Speedos laying out on Sheep's Meadow at any given time

Now here are some pics of my baby enjoying the great outdoors of NYC
