4th of July

The 4th of July was a great day full of activities. We spent the morning/afternoon at beautiful Stony Brook Park with some friends, then attended a BBQ/pool party for dinner, and topped the day off by watching a gorgeous firework show downtown. We were fortunate that Bryson had the day off this year and that we were able to spend the day as a family (and our almost 4th of July baby Andrew joined us this year!)
The 4th is a fantastic holiday. The weather is typically warm, the food is casual (but good), and it feels so wonderful to celebrate and reflect on what a great nation we live in. I cannot help but feel overwhelmed when I think about the cost of our freedom. I have many family members who died securing that freedom (as do many of you). We are so blessed to be Americans.

This is Stony Brook. It is a huge park full of waterfalls with natural pools underneath them. Our good friends, The Mudricks, invited us to join them. They go every year, and I am so glad we were able to join them this year.

Ethan, Liam, and James

We all look so goofy in this picture. I am pretty sure Ben Mudrick was shaking his bum to get the boys to laugh. I guess this antic works pretty well on adults too!

Our other good friends, the McBeths, were able to join us that day.

The boys loved these natural water slides. They could have spent all day here.

And little Andrew loved watching his big brother play. Next year he will be out there with them!

I'm glad that you guys were able to join us this year! And the picture where you're all laughing is priceless, mostly because of what was going on behind the camera!
